I'm really surprised the G1000 doesn't do it. It paints published holds, it would be easy for them to add the ability to draw unpublished holds.

My guess is it will come at some point.
It handles and flies holds on approaches and the missed approach - especially with the Garmin autopilot. |

It is that easy on the GNS 480 which Garmin acquired from UPSAT. It has done all that and much more since day one. Too bad the user community didn't support it, causing Garmin to discontinue it. It is the closest you will ever get to a FMS for general aviation.
Of course I also think that the reason Garmin bought the company was to kill the superior product (its only competition) and be able to acquire the WAAS technology, which UPSAT already had, for themselves. If true, the handwriting was on the wall. Thankful that I have one and wouldn't trade it for anything. |
